Opis

Functional Anatomy:Location and Structure: The lungs are located in the thoracic cavity, protected by the rib cage and separated from the abdominal cavity by the diaphragm. Each lung is divided into lobes; the right lung has three lobes, while the left lung has two.

Airway System: Air enters through the trachea, which splits into the left and right bronchi, leading to each lung. These bronchi further divide into smaller bronchioles, ending in tiny air sacs called alveoli.

Gas Exchange: The primary function of the lungs is to facilitate gas exchange. Oxygen from inhaled air diffuses into the blood in the alveoli, while carbon dioxide from the blood is exhaled.
